ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರೋಣ. ಮಹಿಳೆಯರೇ ಈ ವರ್ಷ ನಾವು ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಬ್ಯೂಟಿಫುಲ್ ಆಗೋಣವೇ? ತುಂಬಾ ಸುಲಭ. ಬ್ರೇಕ್ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬರೋಲ್ಲ ನೋಡಿ!

ರೆಸೊಲ್ಯೂಷನ್ 1 :

ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯಿರಿ:

ತುಂಬಾ ಸುಲಭ ಅಲ್ವಾ? ಅದೂ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಇದರಿಂದಾಗುವ ಲಾಭ ಅಪಾರ. ನಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮದೊಳಗೆ ಅಡಗಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವ ನಂಜು, ಕೊಳೆಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತೆಸೆಯಲು ಉತ್ತಮ ಮಾರ್ಗ. ಇದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಳಪು ಕೊಡುವುದಲ್ಲದೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಹದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.

ರೆಸೊಲ್ಯೂಷನ್ 2:

ತ್ವಚೆಯ ತೇವಾಂಶ ಕಾಯ್ದಿರಿಸುವುದು(Skin Moisturization):

ಚರ್ಮ ತೇವವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಶುಷ್ಕವಾಗಿ ತುರಿಕೆ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ? ಅದೂ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಚಳಿಗಾಲ ಬೇರೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನು ತೇವವಾಗಿ, ತಂಪಾಗಿ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರವಾಗಿ ಇರಿಸಬೇಕಾದರೆ Moisturization ಅಗತ್ಯ ಖಂಡಿತ ಇದೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಇದನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ದಿನವೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕು. ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮ ಕೋಮಲವಾಗಿ, ಮೃದುವಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಚರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಆರೈಕೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.

ರೆಸೊಲ್ಯೂಷನ್ 3:

ಬ್ಯೂಟಿ ಟೈಮ್:

ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಬಿಝಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಮಯದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಮೇಕ್ ಅಪ್ ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುವಾಗಲೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಲೇಡೀಸ್!! ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಬ್ಯೂಟಿ ರೂಟೀನ್ ಗಾಗೀನೇ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ಮೀಸಲಿಡೋಣ.

ರೆಸೊಲ್ಯೂಷನ್ 4:

ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿ:

ನೀವು ನಿದ್ರಿಸುವ ಸಮಯ, ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಹಾಗು ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ನೇರವಾದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಿದ್ದೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮದ ಸೆಲ್ ಗಳ ಮರುಹುಟ್ಟು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಕಿನ್ ಕೇರ್ ರೂಟೀನ್ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಸರಿಯಾದ ನಿದ್ರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಮೃದುವಾಗಿ, ಕೋಮಲವಾಗಿ ಇರಿಸಿ, ಉತ್ತಮ ಪೋಷಣೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದೂ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ಉತ್ತಮ ನಿದ್ರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ರೆಸೊಲ್ಯೂಷನ್ 5:

ಯೋಗಾಸನ:

ಯೋಗಾಸನವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಹ ಹಾಗು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಯೋಗದ ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಆಸನಗಳು, ನಮ್ಮ ಚರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಳಪು ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಯೋಗದಿಂದಾಗಿ ದೇಹದ ರಕ್ತ ಪರಿಚಲನೆ ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದು ಚರ್ಮದ ತ್ವಚೆಯನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Coconut palm sugar and palm sugar may sound same but are completely two different sweeteners. The liquid collected from the sap is called toddy or neera. This fresh toddy is boiled to obtain palm sugar or palm syrup. This process is done quickly to avoid toddy from fermenting. To make the sugar solid, the boiled juice is then poured into bamboo sections to form cylindrical shapes or into coconut shells  or into small baskets woven of palm leaves. You also get palm sugar in powder form, which looks very close to coconut sugar. This sugar, even when soft, can be extremely dense and very sticky. Palm Sugar has a low GI and helps prevent diabetes and anemia during pregnancy. It is also known to be effective against cold and lung related ailments. You can use palm sugar in the same way as you would use jaggery.

The following kashayams will be given every night before sleep to the pregnant woman. Since there are 6+1 types of kashayams the cycle will be

repeated till the baby is delivered. All kashayams should be filtered before serving.

Day 1:
1 teaspoon Jeera
2 inch x 2 inch block of palm jaggery (Olle Bella)

2 cups of water

Dry roast the jeeragam in a wide skillet. Once the auroma comes add the water and palm jaggery block. Let it simmer and reduce to 1/2 cup.

Switch off the stove and serve it warm.

Day 2:
1 teaspoon Methi seeds
2 inch x 2 inch block of palm jaggery (Olle Bella)
2 cups of water

Dry roast the Methi seeds in a wide skillet. Once the auroma comes add the water and palm jaggery block. Let it simmer and reduce to 1/2 cup.

Switch off the stove and serve it warm.

Day 3:
4 stems of Curry leaves (remove the leaves and use the stems alone. Each stem should be 10 inch in size)
2 inch x 2 inch block of palm jaggery ( (Olle Bella))
2 cups of water

Add the water and palm jaggery block along with the water and curry leaf stems in a wide skillet. Let it simmer and reduce to 1/2 cup. Switch off

the stove and serve it warm.

Day 4:
4 stems of Drumstick leaves (remove the leaves and use the stems alone. Each stem should be 10 inch in size)
2 inch x 2 inch block of palm jaggery (karupatti in Tamil)
2 cups of water

Add the water and palm jaggery block along with the water and drumstick leaf stems in a wide skillet. Let it simmer and reduce to 1/2 cup. Switch

off the stove and serve it warm.

Day 5:
1 teaspoon Somb
2 inch x 2 inch block of palm jaggery (Olle Bella)
2 cups of water

Dry roast the Somb in a wide skillet. Once the auroma comes add the water and palm jaggery block. Let it simmer and reduce to 1/2 cup. Switch

off the stove and serve it warm.

Day 6:
1/2 inch piece of  dry ginger crushed slightly
2 inch x 2 inch block of palm jaggery ( (Olle Bella))
2 cups of water

Add the crushed dry ginger piece with the water and pal jaggery in a wide skillet. Let it simmer and reduce to 1/2 cup. Switch off the stove and serve it warm.

Day 7:
Lavang – 7 nos with the head part removed (This kashaya alone will be given once in a month. On the seventh month it starts with 7 lavangh and it is incresed as 8 nos by 8th and 9 by 9th. This kashaya should be had only once in a month. Hence the other kashaya are repeated the entire month.

2 inch x 2 inch block of palm jaggery (Olle Bella)
2 cups of water

Dry roast the Lavang in a wide skillet. Once the auroma comes add the water and palm jaggery block. Let it simmer and reduce to 1/2 cup.

Switch off the stove and serve it warm.

These kashaya eases up urination and cures the edima especially in the lower limbs in the later months of pregnancy. These should be strictly had only after the start of seventh month.

1/4 tsp Coriander Seed

Cumin (Cuminum cyminum): The Sanskrit name for cumin (Jiraka) literally translates as ‘promoting digestion’. It is rich in essential oils and has an anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, and gentle diuretic effect on the body. Cumin is indicated for sluggish or slow digestion, indigestion, nausea, flatulence, and bloating.

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum): The Sanskrit name for coriander (Dhanyaka) also means ‘rich’. Coriander is a gentle appetite stimulant and anti-spasmodic herb that is particularly suited for the hyper, acidic, or otherwise ‘burning’ qualities of digestion. It is soothing and anti-inflammatory to the tissues, and it’s diuretic action removes excess heat and toxins from the body.

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare): The Sanskrit name for fennel (Madhurika) translates as “the sweet one”. Fennel is particularly useful as an anti-spasmodic, relieving painful flatulence, cramps, bloating, indigestion, and colic in children. It is rich in sweet tasting volatile oils, and assists digestive flow in it’s natural downward motion. It is also slightly diuretic and has the added benefit of increasing milk production in nursing mothers (don’t worry – if you aren’t nursing, you won’t start producing milk by drinking fennel tea).
Preparation:

Step 1: Boil 1 1/2 cups of water
Step 2: Add the whole cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds.
Step 3: Let steep for 5 minutes, or until it cools to a comfortable drinking temperature.
Step 4: Strain and serve, discarding the spices.

Obviously this delicious fruit is an excellent choice if you need more potassium at times. Typically a medium sized banana contains about 422 milligrams of this important matter. Ancient knowledge of India, where turmeric is extensively used in Indian food habits are proved to be a substance which potentially delays or prevents diabetes. The Scientists from the University of Newcastle’s Nutraceuticals Research Group, led by Professor Manohar Garg, are seeking 80 recruits for a new clinical study to find out whether the Indian spice combined with an omega-3 fat can delay the onset of type 2 diabetes or prevent it altogether.

The root cause of type 2 diabetes is systemic inflammation, which impacts insulin secretion and function, We want to nip the inflammation in the bud.This study will use two bioactive compounds that we find in food – curcumin and omega-3 fat. Both are very important anti-inflammatory agents. Turmeric has been used for centuries to promote healing of bruises, sprains, wounds and inflammation. In fact the disease is now an epidemic in India and may soon be the number one health burden.

The Curcumin, derived from turmeric, is part of the ginger family and commonly used for food colouration. Its healing properties are well known in India. It is proved that “Curcumin”, a substance in turmeric, combined with an omega-3 fat may potentially delay or prevent the onset of type-2 diabetes, according to researchers. The randomized control trial will test both compounds, with the recruitment group being segregated into four. One will get curcumin only, the second will get omega-3 fat only, the third will receive both, and the fourth will serve as a control group.

A combination which  contains 200 mili grams of curcumin and one gram of omega-3 fat respectively. People who are prone to develop diabetes because of impaired glucose tolerance or impaired fasting glucose, and who are aged between 30 and 70, may be eligible.
The anti-inflammatory mechanisms surrounding curcumin and omega-3 fats are different, so we want to test if they complement each other and have treatment synergies beyond their individual effects. It is advised that the combination is safe, free of any side-effects and may prove to be as effective as drugs used for management of diabetes.

Yes! Everyone needs to move their bodies to stay health, but question is how much is enough? Most healthy people should aim for at least 30 minutes, five times a week, of moderately intense activity such as brisk walking, plus 10 to 15 minutes or so of strength-training (digging in your garden counts) 2 or 3 days a week. This is enough exercise to help you lower your risk for health conditions like high blood pressure, stroke, coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, colon cancer, and osteoporosis, and to prevent the natural loss of muscle mass that slows metabolism and contributes to weight gain in your thirties, forties, fifties, and beyond.

But if you’re trying to lose weight, more activity is better, a hour or even 90 minutes of moderate exercise, or 1/2 hour of vigorous activity such as jogging, strenuous aerobics, or fast-paced cycling, is ideal. Of course, anything you do is better than nothing, and consistency counts. Fitting in 30 minutes most days of the week, even in 10-minute bursts, is better than playing the weekend warrior by overdoing it once or twice a week.

If you’re the type that just doesn’t enjoy going to the gym or using a treadmill, choose an activity you enjoy that you can do for 10 to 30 minutes or longer and that raises your heart rate. This could be dancing, playing tennis, chopping enough wood to heat your house for the winter, or lining up strenuous yard work or housework that feels like a workout.

Finally the Science has proved that our brain can be trained to prefer health food.  The scientists at the Tufts University, United States say that it is really possible to train the our brain to prefer healthy food over junk foods that have no nutritional value.

This is possible even in those people who have a well-established unhealthy eating habit. No excuses folks!  Till now, It has all along been believed that eating habits once established is difficult to leave behind and start with a healthy diet, which has now turned out to be wrong.

“There is much more research to be done here, involving many more participants, long-term follow-up and investigating more areas of the brain.” -Professor Roberts, Researcher.

To prove their hypothesis, the scientists studied the part of the brain associated with reward and addiction in 13 overweight and obese individuals comprising men and women. The participants were split into two groups for the study, with one group of eight put on a special diet containing high proportions of protein and fibre while the other group continued on their usual diet. The researchers however took care not to allow the control group to get hungry. At the end of the six-month programme, the researchers made a MRI scan and compared the same with the ones taken prior to the control period. The researchers then discovered that there was a change in the brain’s reward area.

The control group showed a marked preference for healthy food over unhealthy ones after being shown pictures that included both junk and healthy foods. This is the evidence that the brain has been trained to prefer healthier foods.
