After the success of Nirel, Sandhya Creations launches its second movie, Dhand. Ranjith Bajpe of Nirel fame selected to direct the movie. Once the project started, Sudhakar Kudroli had been appointed as Executive Producer. Protagonist of the movie required action and romantic image, hence script was narrated to Arjun Kapikad and signed for movie. Met Sandeep Shetty at Dubai, when he attended “Bale Telipale” program in Dubai. Deepak Paladka, who won “Bale Telipale” contest among Gulf countries chosen to play an important role in the movie. Eventually Other star cast selected for the movie. There was a call for audition in Mangalore and selected Shilpa Suvarna, Anvitha Sagar and Nidhi Maroli for 3 main roles. As movie has 3 female characters, costumes played major role, so Surakshitha Shetty selected as costume designer. She is the first female costume designer in Tulu Film Industry. Deepak Paladka was later groomed for Marketing of the movie.
Muhurtha of movie was done at Sri. Sharavu Maha Ganapathi Temple, Mangalore on January 14, 2015, and a 37 days of shooting schedule started. Sujith Nayak has done the on site editing of the movie. A total of 30 days were spent for completing the talkie portion of the movie.
A beautiful romantic song, “Nina Teliken” sung by Sonu Nigam was shot in 4 days at various locations in Mangalore. This song was shot keeping in mind the theme of 3 environmental conditions of mother nature like Greenery, Water and Dry. Director Ranjith Bajpe, Anoop Sagar and Surakshitha Shetty together Choreographed this song and shot around beautiful natural locales of Mangalore.
A Marriage song, “Ora Oppi Bokka”, was shot during night in a traditional house near Yekkar, Mangalore. This is pictured on Sandeep Shetty and Anvitha Sagar and is Choreographed by Akul N.
Intro song, ‘Hero Yaanavodu’ is pictured on Arjun Kapikad was shot near Panambur and was choreographed by Akul N.
Item song, ‘Gammathu’ is shot on Anoop Sagar and Ameeta Kulal was captured at night in sensuous “Red Rock Resort” near Surathkal Mangalore.
Entire Action scenes were directed by the well known Sandalwood Stunt master, Ultimate Shivu, who also has directed the stunts for Ugram.
